Happy Agent began as an early-stage concept focused on supporting real estate transaction coordinators. MarketingStarz partnered with the client to take the idea from concept to a fully functional, publicly accessible web application.
The engagement centered on designing, building, and supporting a real production system, including application architecture, infrastructure, and operational workflows required to run a live SaaS-style platform.
The project started with defining the product vision and translating it into a buildable application. MarketingStarz provided early mockups, user stories, and technical documentation, working closely with a small delivery team to move the concept toward a shippable product.
The application was built using a traditional Ruby on Rails stack, requiring careful coordination between front-end and back-end development. The work emphasized building a stable, production-ready system rather than a quick prototype, resulting in a fully deployed platform capable of supporting real users.
Once live, the focus expanded to application support and systems ownership. This included managing production infrastructure, troubleshooting runtime issues, and maintaining uptime in a real-world environment. Supporting the platform provided hands-on experience operating and stabilizing a live Rails application, including diagnosing and recovering from server and application-level failures.
